Re: Windows 7 - Slick OS, but Not Worth an Upgrade

Next week, Microsoft is releasing Windows 7, a slick, much improved operating system that should go a long way toward erasing the bad impression left by its previous effort, Vista. If you've been holding off on buying a new computer, Windows 7 will be a good excuse to get back into the game. If you've been weighing a Mac versus a Windows PC, then you should know that "7" makes Windows more attractive, though not a clear-cut choice for everyone. Windows is now easier to use and better looking than it was before, while maintaining its core advantage of cheaper, more diverse hardware.

Windows 7 is worth the upgrade

I am surprised at the conclusion the author came to on upgrading. Windows 7 is exactly what needs to replace Vista immediately. I took a 7 year old laptop and installed Windows 7 beta and it installed perfectly without any driver issues. The old laptop worked surprisingly fast with only 512 RAM. I am actually looking forward to upgrading to Windows 7 on my clients systems that have Vista.

I Disagree With The Author

Windows 7 is great, I have used all MS Operating Systems and this is the best one yet, by far. The improvements in this iteration on the OS are definitely worth the upgrade. I'm not sure where the author of this article got his information from or what he has been reading, but I believe people will be truly satisfied with Windows 7, unlike Windows Vista (at first). Upgrade to Windows 7 if your computer is capable of doing so, and do it quick! You will be happy you did. (I am currently using it and haven't found any problems or things that I don't like about it)

Vista 2.0

I love how people have no minds of their own. The Media and marketing departments run the minds of millions accross the world. For example nobody liked Vista because a few morons decided to try it on ancient hardware and it didn't work so the media gave it a bad rap. Well, here is a wake up call! There was nothing wrong with Windows Vista. It was far better than any other Windows OS to date and I can prove it. Go buy Windows 7 and then after your comfortable with it go use Windows Vista, THEY ARE THE EXACT SAME OS!!!!!! This whole "Windows 7" stunt is just Microsoft making a few slight changes to Vista to make it look fresh and re-releasing it under an alias. In all fairness they have to because a few morons ruined Vista's reputation. Even though they are one in the same technology reviewers have to say that Windows 7 is "amazingly better than Vista" because their jobs depend on the declining sales in the technology world to turn around (as does mine) and Windows 7 is their best bet for a career saving rebound. Though we could have avoided this if people would stop believing everything they see on TV or read on the internet and try things for themselves.

Windows 7

I agree that Vista is not the problem child of Microsoft operating systems, as many in the tech community would like us to believe. I also agree that Windows 7 is essentially the same OS as Vista. In its infinite quest for the almighty dollar, Microsoft took what should have been nothing more than a service pack for Vista and turned it into a costly, irrelevant, OS.
