See Full StoryFor some time -- and more so lately -- cries have been going up, mainly from disgruntled
shareholders, for Time Warner to toss AOL onto the street. But that's an idea whose time
has yet to come. In fact, AOL should remind the Time Warner people who's the boss. AOL
bought Time Warner, not the other way around. I know it sounds crazy now, but it made a
lot of sense then. And you know what? The people holding Time Warner shares liked the
idea well enough at the time.

AOL's boom and take over of TW was just part of the gangster-driven dot com scam for which numerous Wall Street names have been jailed, or fined. Since the take-over, the top AOL guys have been fired.
The bosses are the investors, not some suits.

AOL has more to worry about now. Its Beta 8.0 is nothing but trouble to the user. The download takes hours and it disables everything. Use your download then you can't delete off of it. It makes a mess of your whole system. Believe me I have been battling it for days and had to go work to go back to AOL 7.0
So the story is, "AOL you presented this too soon," get it off the market to the consumer, today!

The whole point of a Beta is for people to test it. If you're not technically oriented you shouldn't be downloading it.
Personally, I don't understand how AOL has managed to stay in business at all with their pricing. I'd much rather keep my DSL connection for $26.95 /mo. than to pay $20ish for dial-up and have a busy phone line.
