Stock Watch: VeriSign Gains as it Joins Nasdaq Index

VeriSign (Nasdaq: VRSN), Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSN) rose 3 to 196 Friday, as it completed the acquisition of Network Solutions, Inc. and joined the Nasdaq 100 Index.

Network Solutions had been included in the index, and VeriSign replaces its merger partner. The combined company, which provides payment, validation and other e-commerce services, has a market capitalization of $26.1 billion.
