Gupta Technologies announced today that its SQLBase(R) 9.0 for Linux has been certified "Novell Ready" for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 and 9.
The Novell Ready designation means that the product has been designed to work with Novell's Linux family of enterprise-class software products.
"GUPTA has been a SuSE Linux, and now Novell Technology Partner, since June 2003," said Holger Dyroff, the vice president of SuSE Linux product management at Novell, in a statement.
"The combination of GUPTA's SQLBase for Linux with Novell's SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 will provide ISVs, VARs and corporate customers a scalable high performance foundation for their embedded database needs."
SQLBase 9.0 for Linux runs up to 40 percent faster on the SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9 than on Windows operating systems using identical hardware, according to Gupta.
The company also touted the security of the system.
SQLBase 9.0 is available in standard and encrypted versions. A trial version is available for download on the Gupta Web site.
