GetThere.com (Nasdaq: GTHR) rose 1 1/2 to 12 1/4 Tuesday, following news that America West Airlines (Nasdaq: AWAL) will use the company’s technology to power a new online travel booking system on its Web site.
The new system allows travelers to book complete trips — flight, hotel and car reservations — from the airline’s Web site. It also provides flight status information, seat selection maps, driving directions and other functions, and remembers a user’s preferences. America West says the plan reduces response times by 40 percent.
A repeated buy recommendation from an analyst at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette also helped boost GetThere shares. Analyst Jamie Kiggen expects the stock to reach 60 in a year, reports said.
