Stock Watch: NIC Gains on AOL Alliance

National Information Consortium (Nasdaq: EGOV) rose 3 1/32 to 10 Tuesday after the company, which provides e-commerce services to government offices and agencies, announced a three-year agreement with America Online, Inc. (NYSE: AOL).

The Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it will provide state government information, services and applications through AOL’s Government Guide, which is in the process of being redesigned.

NIC also said it will work with all 50 U.S. states to make sure the AOL portal provides accurate and simple information about the governments and their services. According to the company, its state government portals receive about 360 million unique page views and 1.1 billion hits each year.
