HP’s Chromebase 22-aa0012 is a unique form factor with a spinning 21.5-inch display, striking performance, and clean aesthetics that make it a game-changing alternative for desktop computers. This all-in-one is the first and only Chrome OS-powered desktop to feature a fully rotating display.
I've had this model for about six weeks now.
The experience had been mostly good until about a week ago.
One of the two USB-C ports failed and is completely dead.
I immediately opened a case via their support portal.
After receiving a one-way-only confirmation email, there have been no status updates or messages.
Additionally, I checked the warranty status while on the support portal.
It declares the warranty to only have six months remaining for my serial number.
They apparently use the date of manufacture as a starting point.
The end user is expected to login to their site and file a "dispute" by uploading
proof of purchase information in order to get the proper full year warranty.
I did that a week ago and the status remains unchanged.
HP support on this has been very disappointing so far.
Per my previous comment:
I have just added an aftermarket swivel base to the HP Chromebase.
It's a low profile, round aluminum disk about 8.5" in diameter.
This is working perfectly for side-to-side pivoting of the unit.
Silent operation and just the right amount of resistance.
Can be found easily online for about $19.
Disclosure: I have no affiliation whatsover with the product.

The only improvement I can see so far would be to add a pivot bearing (yaw axis) to the terrifically solid base on this device.
This would provide easy side-to-side adjustment of the screen.
HP has done this before. I have it on an old HP 8300 All-In-One (still in operation and upgraded to Windows 11!)
Seems like integrating that would not add too much to the final price.
I realize it might be a feature most users don't care about.
Not meaning to nit-pick here. Just a suggestion and not a complaint.
Best Regards,

Good luck, Daniel. I'm glad to hear that you took the plunge. It is a great computing experience that wraps up Chrome OS, Android apps, and Linux all on a big screen.
Best wishes,
Jack
I am fairly new to the ChromeOS environment and had been considering one of these for a while.
This gave me the needed nudge.
Just finished setting up the new HP Chromebase - Core i3-10110U / 16 GB RAM / 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.
Installed LibreOffice 7.2.5.2 on this and it's running great so far.
Thanks Jack
